RAILWAY WAGE CUT.
ten' per cent proposed. LONDON, October 2. At a conference between the railway companies and unions the former proposed an all-round 10 per cent reduction in wages and salaries to replace the deduction awarded in March, .1931, of 2J per cent on wages under 40/ a week and 5 per cent on wages in excess of 40/; also a new minimum rate for unskilled workers of 3S/ a week. The conditions . of service it was proposed to leave unI touched. The matter was adjourned for coni sideration by the respective executives.
