"NO SURRENDER."

Uncompromising Attitude in Ireland. SPIRIT OF DEFIANCE. C" Times " Cables.) LONDON, September 20. The Dublin correspondent of "The Times" states that Mr. <le Valera's departure for Geneva seems to have been the signal for an intensification of tli*3 Irish Free State's political campaign. Most of the principal members of the Government addressed meetings at the week-end in various parts. In every case they adopted a moet uncompromising attitude respecting the land annuities controversy. "No surrender" was the keynote of all the speeches, including that of Mr. Norton, Leader of the Labour party. The spirit of defiance seems to be hardening, says the correspondent, with the Ministers discarding all pretence of a desire for a settlement toith Britain.
