DIED ON TRAIN.
CHILD ON WAY'JQ HOSPITAL HOT IiIQTJID DROPPED ON PACE ACCIDENT AT OPUA. (By Telegraph.—Own .Correspondent.) - 1 WHANGARET, this day. Tlip infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs/ Peter George die<l on the train between Opua and Kawakawa while being conveyed. to' hospital with injuries which were caused when .the child's mother accidentally dropped a mug of hot cornflour, and water on the child's face.
At an inquest whicli. was held at Russell Dr. H.. Hudson, who had treatctr the child prior to its removal to hospital, expressed the opinion that the child died of septic absorption, following severe burns.
A verdict was given in accordance with the medical evidence.
