SHAREHOLDERS FAVOUR RAIL,

KOPEOPEO, Monday

A postal vote, was taken among shareholders in the Rangitaiki Plains Dairy Co. on the question whether the directors should consign butter by railway or boat on the conclusion of the pres'ent contract with the Northern Steam Ship Co. in two years time, in accordance with the promise given to the Railway Board when members of the board were here recently.

The result of the ballot is in favour of railway freightage .by .a-majority of over two voces to one.
