(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHAN-GAREI, this day.
Captain and Mrs. McLean, of Wellington, left the capital city some months ago with a party intent upon sailing-J° the Islands in their 36ft auxiliary yacht Restless. At Tryphena, Great Barrier Island, however, Captain . McLean became very ill. He sailed the boat "to Auckland and was sent to hospital where he underwent an operation. The others of the party returned to Wellington.
Captain when he recovered, I set a course for Whangaroa with himself | as crew, and his wife as passenger, and six weeks ago he cast anchor off the Wliangaroa pier,- and since then Mrs. McLean, who is an invalid, has not left the ship. The Restless is well 'fitted for comfort, even to supplying heaters. ,„Th"o or three times a week Captain McLe&n pulls to-the shore for provisions.
