'PLANE STRIKES HOLE.
UNDER-CARRIAGK SMASHED. ACCIDENT AFTER LAXIMXG. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAWERA, this day.
Striking a hole after being landed down wind by the pilot, Mr. I\. Holdaway, the New Plymouth Western Federated Flying Club's plane AAX had one of its longerons broken and the under-carriage smashed at Manaia on Saturday.
Four Federation 'planes were at the field participating in jubilee celebrations, and Mr. Holdaway, with his wife as passenger, had just brought the. 'plane down when the mishap occurred. The 'plane was dismantled and conveyed to Ne'W Plymouth by lorry.
