CATS AND CUSHIONS.

CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW.

MANY FINE ENTRIES

THIS MORNING'S AWARDS.

Beautiful white cats -with china blue eyes and lons thick coats'are a feature of the third annual championship show of the New Zealand Pekinese and Persian Cat Club, which was opened in the Unity Hall this morning. The ten thousand and one cats which roam about Auckland would feel aggrieved had they known the regal life of tne few Oats which were to-day displayed m all their "lory. There were -grey eats, suede eate, black cate and cats ot variegated colour tones, eleek and beautunlly.Tooiiied pets which ecemed to know instinctively that they had been paraded with nicely combed fur for an Auckland championship. Majestically some of them reclined on colourful silk cushions, indifferent, all at ease and all apparently 'bored, as cats sometimes are. They seemed to know that they were there to be admired, afco that there were 'no dogs of uncertain temper in the locality or eveii mice. They were-mostly well-mannered cats, but one was an exception. It was quite unruly when the judge came along .to admire the finer "catty 7, points, but being an expert in his line and entirely unbiased, he forgave the pertulant outburst and soon the glorious red ribbon of the cat-land championship was hanging round the animal's glossy neck. "All the animals in the show are excellent," said the judge,. Mr. J. Langridge. He gave special mention to the. white and silver Persians. The show, he said, was well up to standard. PIUZE LIST.
