WEDDINGS OF THE DAY.
WHITHAM—CARRINGTON. St. Benedict's church was the scene of a wedding on Wednesday morning in which wide interest was taken when Miss Moira Hilary C'arrington, eldest daughter of the Hon. C. J. Carrington, M.L.C., and Mrs. Carrington, of Leamington Eoad, Mount Eden, was married to Mr. George. Milton Whitham, oldest son of Mr. G. H. Whitham, and the late Mrs. Whitham, of Waiuku. Nuptial Mass was celebrated b3 r the Very Rev. Monsignor Ormond. The bride was given away by her father. She wore a graceful frock of ivory satin beaute fashioned at the back to form a train over which fell the veil of Honiton lace. She carried a sheaf of arum lilies and maidenhair.fern. The chief bridesmaid, Miss Alicia Carrington, sistar of the bride, wore blue taffeta, in early Victorian style, and a hat to tone. She carried a shower bouquet of cyclamentinted flowers. Miss Joyce Carrington, sister of the bride, and Miss Naomi Whitham, sister of tho bridegroom, wore early Victorian frocks of ivory charmeuse and bonnet-shaped hats of blue felt and mittens to tone. Each attendant carried a bouquet of irises and paper narcissi. Mr. Brian Whitham was best man. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Parnell Park tea kiosk, The guests were received by the Hon. C J. Carrington and Mrs. Carrington, the latter wearing a frock of embossed georgette in tones of henna and blue. A large number of relatives and friends of the bride- and bridegroom were present at the reception, including the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates and Mrs. Coates, the Hon. G. J. G-arland, the Hon. J. Trevethick and the Very Rev. Monsignor Ormond. 1
