DEATH SENTENCES.

BURMESE MURDERERS. CALCUTTA, May 28. Seventy Burmese rebels were sentenced to death and 22 others to transportation for life by a special tribunal at Thayet-myo. Two British officers of Indian and Burmese Regiments were awarded the D.S.O. and five officers the M.C. for services in the suppression of the rebellion.

Amazing figures Lave been issued revealing the fact that nearly 600 murders were committed in the province in the past five months. Fifteen were traced to rebels.
