JUDGES' DISPUTE.

CHANCELLOR AS PEACEMAKER. LONDON, May 20. The Lord Chancellor, Viscount Sankey, had been asked to act as peacemaker between Mr. Justice McCardie and Mr. Justice Scrutton in their dispute over a reversed judgment of Mr. Justice McCardie.

The matter was raised at a meeting of the Cabinet. The "Daily Herald" states that Mr. Justice McCardie's resignation now has been definitely deferred.
