'Phone Girls Maintain Service in Flooded Exchange. RAINS INTERRUPT LINES. (Received 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 24. Owing to floods in the Midlands, two telephone girls attired in bathing costumes 6at waist deep in water in order to maintain communication in the flooded exchange at Duffield, near Derby. Thousands of lines are out of order.
