GRAFTON GULLY.
BEAUTIFYING SCHEME. Grafton Gully, in the vicinity of tlie Grafton Bridge, is being "cleaned up" and made more beautiful. For some months between 50 and 60 men have been engaged on the work under No. 5 scheme conditions, the money being provided by the Patriotic Association and the supervision by the City Council. Footpaths that had become overgrown with weeds have been reformed and rustic work has been included in the beautifying scheme. When the work is completed the gully will be one of the "show" promenades of the city.
