Mr. Lawrence Watt, of Wellington, is spending the winter months in Tauranga. Sir Geo. Fowlds returned to Auckland by the Limited express from Wellington this morning. Dr. Arthur Preston has returned to Tauranga after touring the Continent for the past two years. Mr. Robert Clarke, manager for Messrs. Thos. Cook and Sons' Wellington branch, is visiting Auckland. Mr. R. Witheford, Registrar of Friendly Societies, has returned to Wellington from the South Island. Mr. A. J. M. Goodwin lias been appointed manager of the Bank of New South Wales at Palmerston North. Mr. W. Goodfellow, managing director of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, was a passenger to Wellington last evening. Mr. H. M. Rushworth, M.P. for Bay of Islands, was a passenger from Wellington by the Limited express this morning. Mr. Ryan, of Auckland, who has spent six mont'lis in Tauranga for health reasons, has gone to Rotorua before returning to Wellington. Mr. G. R. Hutchinson, a member of the New Zealand Broadcasting Board, was a passenger to Wellington by the Limited express last evening. Mr. W. M. Cole, assistant railway traffic manager at Dunedin, is at present on leave. Mr. Cole was stationed at Auckland for some time. Mr. J. Macleod, manager of the Bank of Australasia at Invercargill, has been promoted to a similar position in Whangarei, and will leave for the North in about ten days' time. The Rev. F. J. Shaw, who has been minister of the Congregational Church in Timaru for the past five years, has accepted a call to the Wliangarei Congregational Church. Mr. Shaw will leave Timaru in about two weeks' time. Mr. Wilton Henley, son of Mrs. E. A. W. Henley, of Napier, completes his Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford in June, and has been awarded a scholarship at St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington, London, where lie will complete his medical studies.
