COMMITTEE TO INSPECT.
ARCHBISHOP AT THE HEAD.
DEPARTURE THIS MORNING.
"One of the points raised by the Unemployed Relief Workers' Association in the proposals for the settlement of the strike last week," said the Mayor, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, this morning, "had reference to the relief camps. To-day I arranged for a committee consisting of Archbishop Averill, who kindly offered his services, the Rev. C. Houchen, Major Puttick, and Dr. W. M. McCormick, to visit a number of the camps along with the District Engineer of the Public Works Department, and Mr. W. Slaughter, of the Labour Department. "On their return they will report upon the general conditions and amenities of the camps which have been established for the workers. The committee left on their visit of inspection this morning-"
