HEAVIER TARIFFS.

German Blow to Britain and Dominions. NEW EMERGENCY DECREE. LONDON, January 20. The Berlin correspondent of fclio "Daily Express" says sweeping tariff changes will be introduced in Germany to-day through an emergency decree directed against countries with depreciated currencies, particularly Britain and Denmark. It is expected that the present duty on Danish butter will be doubled. The duty will also be a blow to Australia and New Zealand produce, as in addition to a narrowing of the German market it will face increased competition on the British market.
