WEDDINGS OF THE DAY.
POLLOCK—SHIELDS. A quiet wedding was solemnised at St. James' Cliurch, Wellington Sti-eet, on Saturday evening, when Miss Pat Shields, youngest daughter of Mr. James and the late Mrs. Shields, Greencastle, Belfast, Ireland, was married to Mr. Donald Pollock, second son of Mr. David Pollock, Inverness, Scotland. The Rev. Ewen R. Harries officiated, and Miss C. Patterson was at tlie organ. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of Mr. Jack Brooks, wore a dainty frock of ivory tulle, with medallions of silver lace, worn over cream taffeta. lier long ivory tulle veil was handsomely embroidered, the headdress being arranged cap style, with sprays of orange blossom and bands of silver tissue. She parried a sheaf of St. Michael's lilies. The bride was attended by Miss Kay Christie as bridesmaid, who wore a frock of Alice blue, Anglaisc embroidered, with- georgette frills and diamante bow. She wore a blue picture hat, and carried a sheaf of pink and blue flowers. The bridegroom was supported by Mr. William Symonds as best man. After the ceremony, a reception was held at the Wattle tearooms, when the guests werej received by Mrs. Jack Dames, sister of the bride, who wore a frock of Hawkesbury charmeuse, with bowler hat, and carried a posy of roses. She was assisted by Mrs. Jack Brooks, who was in black lace and tulle, with black bowler hat, carrying a posy of scarlet roses and sweet peas. Among the guests were: Mesdames V. Milicich, Herbert, W. Reynolds, C. Dodger, Ward, M. Pitman, G. Dowsing, W. Cavan, L. Tremain, Misses Edna Herbert, Lillian Reeves, R. Duncan, Beta Roberts, Dariel Ward.
