"TAPPED" A CONSTABLE.

DISORDERLY WHILE DRUNK.

When Thomas (34), a hairdresser, had more drink than was good for him yesterday he went up to a constable and started tapping him on the back. The policeman told him to go away, but he refused, and as a result he was "gathered in." At the Police Court this morning Menzies, who, the police said, arrived in Lyttelton from Australia as a stowaway, was fined £1, in default 6even days, for being disorderly while drunk.
