PROVINCIAL NEWS.

GLEN EDEN. The Glen Eden Scouts' group committee held a successful social on Wednesday evening in the Anglican Hall. Commissioner Service and Mrs. Service, and Scoutmaster Abbott with a troop from Leys Institute ■were present. Items were rendered by Mrs. Percival (soprano), Master Les Rowlands (elocutionist) and Scout J. Lawrence (pianoforte solos). Mrs. J. R. Wood was the accompanist. Games and competitions were played. The chairman, Mr. John Edwards, referred to the placard of the "Scout Law," and pointed out the high ideals aimed at by all Scouts. The evening closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
