OVERSEAS SPORT.

THE SPRINGBOKS.

South Australia All Out

For 170.

BOWLER MAKES TOP SCORE

(United P.A.—Electric Telegraph-^Copyright)

ADELAIDE, November 1

The match between the South African cricketers and South Australia was resumed yesterday morning at the Adelaide Oval.. The visitors in their first innings made 175, and yesterday South Australia took their score to 170, and the visitors lost one wicket for 8G runs.

There were between 10,000 and 12,000 spectators present. The wicket • was easy.

South Australia was weak in batting and in 232 minutes scored 170. The batting was desultory after Richardson's dismissal. The captain's exhibition, was the only bright spot. His batting was most attractive. He hit four boundaries.

Waite, picked as a bowler, was sound, albeit slow. The decision against Lonergan for leg-before wicket was doubtful. His contribution was invaluable, although mostly of sneaked singles. The Springboks changed the bowling frequently. 'Bell swung with plenty of pace and" was untiring. The loose turf appeared to bother the fieldsmen. The visitors adopted stonewall tactics to keep their wickets intact, and took 105 minutes to score 86. Christy gave a, glimpse of his reputed form. He hit six fours. Scores: — .
