DESERTED AT APIA.
TWO NORWEGIAN SEAMEN. BROUGHT BEFORE COURT. RETURN TO NATIVE LAND. Two Norwegian seamen, Haakon Halversen, aged 20, and Harold Jolian Hansen (21), were brought before the Police Court to-day when they pleaded guilty to a 'charge of entering the Dominion without a permit. #•. The Collector of Customs, Mr. <T. M«'* Inlosh, 1 ' who prosecuted, fjaid both men were deserters from the steamer Borgestad ftt Apia, Western Samoa, and had been brought to Auckland by the 'lofiiai which arrived yesterday afternoon from the inlands. They were both being sent back to Norway. As there were no other means of looking after tlje accused, lie suggested that they should be remanded uritil Monday in custody. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., made this ordoi, and further ordered that they be placed on board the Niagara when she sai'.s.
