CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.

TAKAPUNA GUN CLUB. A (blustering wjnd and occasional stingr injr rain showers made conditions both difficult and unpleasant at the fortnightly shoot -of , the Takapuna Gun Club on Saturday afternoon. These circumstances, together with counter-attractions, made for a smaller muster of members than usual. ..The main event' was a 12-bird handicap for a handsome silver trophy presented by Messrs. Bycroft, Ltd. In this event C. C. Rae recorded a splendid score of 11 birds, all except one being obtained on the first barrel. While this match . was in progress the birds were most difficult to follow on account of 'a' dense bank of black clouds forming an Immediate background. Results are:— ' Seven-bird Sweepstake :—L. J. Henderson (15yds). 6 birds; S. Moren (12yds), 5 birds; A. W. Collins (11yds), 4 birds; W. R. Tytdn (13yds), 4 birds; C. C. Rae (18yds). 4 birds; J. McGregor (12yds), 4 birds; A. Omundsen (14yds), 4 birds; )S\ J. Cossey (9yds), 3 birds; J. Henderson (10yds). 3 birds. L. J. Henderson and Moren took first and second prize-money. Twelve-bird Match for the Bycroft Trophy.—C. C. Rae (20yds), 11 birds; S. Moren (13yds). 9 birds; L. J. Henderson (16yds). 8 birds; A. Omundsen (13yds), 8 birds; J. McGregor (12yds), 7 birds; A. W. Collins (11yds). 7 birds; F. J.
