McCOY'S GOOD BATTING
Fine batting by W. McCoy was a feature of the game on No. 3 wicket at Eden Park, where Parnell scored a first innings win over United Suburbs. The colt hit up 112 in good style. When play began Parnell, with three wickets dowji, needed 33 to pass Suburbs' first innings total of 147. McCoy and Stehr were the not t out pair and they did not take long to put the issue beyond doubt. Between them they put on 165 runs, both playing fine cricket. McCoy's century "was. his second of the season and included two sixes and 12 fours. His shots past extra cover were splendidly executed and he made many runs by powerful off-drives and crisp square cuts v It was a forceful knock. Stehr's effort was ako a worthy one, eight fours going down to his credit. With the exception of Gillies, who carried his bat for 31, the rest of the team fared badly, and the whole side was out for 271. Scores— "~ UNITED SUBURBS. First innings 147 PARNELL.—First Innings.
