MAORI GIRL'S DEATH.

DUE TO SHOOTING MISHAP,

HAMILTON, this day.

The death occurred in the Waikato Hospital on Saturday of Katie Wilson, a Maori girl, aged 13, who was accidentally shot at Ohinewai on March 7.

A loaded gun had been left on the river bank by a brother. A sister picked up the gun, and it was discharged. Katie Wilson was severely wounded, and died from hemorrhage.

An inquest was opened before the coroner, Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., and after evidence of identification had been heard it was adjourned.
