BOY DEES IN HOSPITAL.

RESULT OF FALL FROM CAR,

<By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

WELLINGTON, Sunday,

Following a fall from the runningboard of a motor car yesterday, Harold Samuel Pearce, aged 4 years, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Pearce, of 8, Sussex Street, Masterton, died in the Masterton Hospital this morning.

Mr. and Mrs. Pearce and their son had returned to their home from a drive when the accident occurred. The boy, after getting out of the car to help open the gate, stood on the runningboard while the car was being slowly driven up the drive. He apparently lost his balance and fell into the drive clear of the path of the car. Although he received no visible injury, he became ill later, and was removed to hospital.
