PINNED UNDER MOTOR CAR,

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

WAIPUKURAU, this day.

Arthur McDonald Snelling, aged 24, a stock agent, was killed instantly on Saturday evening. With a friend, George Winlove, Snelling was in a high-powered car, and when rounding a corner he came suddenly on a mob of sheep. Winlove, who was driving, applied the brakes, whereupon the tyre rim of the front right wheel came off. The car, swerving towards the bank, struck a deep washout, and turned over. Winlove was thrown clear, but Snelling was pinned by the hood of the car and his neck • was dislocated. Deceased was a son of Mr. Thomas Snelling, of Makotuku. He was one of the most popular young men in Waipukurau and district. He was a Rugby footballer and an all-round athlete.
