TASMAN TAKES MY GIRL TROPHY.

MARO WINS KERMATH CUP,

The New Zealand Power Boat Association held a series of races on Saturday for cruisers and speed boats. All events started and finished off the King's wharf, the course being round the new compass dolphin off Judge's Bay and back to starting line, twice round, a distance of four miles. The principal race was for tlie My Girl trophy, in which the boats were steered by lady members. Tasman, steered by Miss Pay Brooking, won by the narrow margin of six seconds from Ramona, steered by Miss Coyte, which beat Lady Margaret, steered by Miss Phyllis Wiles, by eight seconds. The Kertiiath Cup was won by Dr. C. G. Long's Maro, with Lady Margaret second. i In the speed boat races Mr. A. Williams' Spot won the first event and Miss Cheltenham the second. The races were very keenly contested, only seconds separating the placed boats. There was a good attendance. of the public 021 the wharf, who were able to see the boats from start to finish. The results were:— Race 1, Cruisers.—The starters were Tasman, Lady Marcaret Ramona and Maro. Maro, on the limit; was sent off- first at 2.10 p.m., followed by Crusader, Lady Margaret, liamona and lasman in this order. Maro was leading on the first round, when the others then passed lier. The finish was: Crusader 24m 395; Tasman, 24m 445; Lady Margaret, 26m 40s, Ramona, 26m 40s (dead-heat) ; Maro, 26m 435. Result: Crusader 1, Tasman 2, Lady Margaret and Ramona 3. Race 2 (Cruisers), My Girl Trophy.— The starters were Tasman, Ramona, Lady Margaret and Maro. All the boats were/ handled by ladies, and after a close race the finish was; Tasman, 23m 475; Ramona, 23m 535; Lady Margarer, 24m Is; Maro, 25m 15s. Result: Tasman 1, Ramona 2, Lady Margaret 3. Race 3, the Xermath Cup for Cruisers.— The starters were Maro, Lady Margaret, Ramona and Tasman in this order. Maro led all the way and the finish was: Maro, 23m 555; Lady Margaret, 25m'Is; Tasman, 25m 9s; Ramona 25m 17s. Result: Maro 1, Lady Margaret 2, Tasman 3. -Race 4,' Speedboats.—There were four starters in this race, which were dispatched in the order of their handicap, -'and the finish was : ; Spot, 15m 40s ; Miss Cheltenham, 17m 495. These were the only boat? to finish. Result: Spot 1, Miss Cheltenham 2. -■ Race 5, Speedboats.—The finish of this race . was : Miss Cheltenham, 15m 22s ; Spot, 18m 575. Only two completed the course. Result: Miss Cheltenham 1, Spot 2. The officers for the day were: Starter, Mr. A. Williamsj judge, Mr. H. E. Siminonds; timekeeper, Mr. A. J. Collings. PONSONBY CLUB'S REGATTA.

The Ponsonby Cruising Club will hold their annual regatta next 'Saturday. Entries close at the usual places on Wednesday.
