OBITUARY.

; '. ma, -xa. \j».; (By .Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) • . . MORRINSVILLE, this day. One of Morrinsville's best-known residents,' Mr. Maxwell Bruce Mackenzie, died on February 5, at the age of 63. Born in, Scotland, he came to New Zealand .with his parents about 50 years ago. He had lived in since 1904. .For about ten years he was foreman for Mr. J. C. R. Watts, builder, of Morrinsville, and during that time was in charge of the building of many business and residential premises in Morrinsville and the surrounding district, including Nottingham Castle Hotel, the largest building in the town, which was erected in 1914 to replace the original hotel destroyed by fire. About 1914 Mr. Mackenzie went into partnership with Mr. J. W. Jackson, and they carried on a cabinetmaking business in Thames Street, Morrinsville, until Mr. Mackenzie retired in 1927. Since then the deceased had been doing a good deal of building in the country districts. For the past 15 years Mr. Mackenzie had been associated with the Morrinsville Masonic Lodge, of which he was a past master. Mr. Mackenzie was predeceased 'by his wife, and there is a grown-up family of six daughters and one son.
