WAIHI, Monday,

Under favourable weather conditions the Waihi Pigeon Flying Club opened the season with a. iy.ee from To Kuiti on Saturday, the air-line distance being 75 miles. The birds were liberated at Te Kuiti at 3 p.m., and the winner, Mr. R. Farrant's bec Master Dakon. arrived at its loft in Waihi at 2.20 p.m., its average speed having been 3 040 yards a minute. Mr. C. Hewson's r p c Just Nothing and Mr. R. Turner's boh Sally tied for second place.
