NAMING THE BABY

Duke to Consult With King and Queen.

RUGBY, August 25,

An indication of the excellent progress which the Duchess of ork and the infant Princess are making is afforded to-day by information that the Duke of York, who motored from Glaiuis to Balmoral early last evening, is expected to stay at Balmoral until Friday. It is understood that while at Balmoral lie will discuss with the King and Queen the names to be given to ths new Princess, and that in all probability the date and place of the christening ceremony will also be fixed.

When lie returns to Glamis the Duke will immediately register th" birth of his daughter with the registrar, who is also the local postmaster and general stores proprietor.

When the Queen goes to Glamis to seo the Duchess it is understood that Her Majesty will take Princess Elizabeth back to Balmoral with her.

' Sir Henry Simpson, theDuchess'-physi-cian, who left Glamis Castle to-day for a day's grouse shooting witl> the Earl of Strathmore, will start to morrow on a few davs' motor tour.

Lady Bjedisloe has forwarded a. message to the Duchess of York as fellows: "Allow me on behalf of th'i women of New Zealand, as well as myself, to offer respectful hearty congratulations on the happy event.."

Lady Bledisloe has received'the following reply from the Duke of York:— "The Duchess and I are very grateful to the women of. New Zealand for their kind congratulations."
