INDOOR PRACTICE WICKETS.
TO START NEXT WEEK.
Following up tie request of tlie New Zealand Cricket Council that associations should endeavour to provide winter practice for cricketers likely to be candidates for the New Zealand team for England at the end of next season, the coach committee of the Auckland Association has made provision for indooi practice on a matting-over-concreta wicket in a building in Upper Queer Street. It m proposed to run this indoor prac lice for five nights a week, startingnexl Monday. In response to the committee'! WTtvaM of the clubs about 70 playeri have (Signified their intention of attend jug practice. On this guarantee the com mftm engaged a floor above Barton McOiU'fl, in Upper Queen Street, witl hdUs, and matting on concrete wickets whilo Mr. V. Taylor has arranged th( lighting. Later arrangements will havi to be made to organise the players foi the various nights in order that each maj bo, assured of good practice.
