TAURANGA.
At the annual meeting of the Tauranga Acclimatisation Society, Mr. .T. A. McKenzie presiding, it was reported that the best deer head taken this year was a 13pointer, secured by Mr. A. S. Hynds. The election of officers resulted t President, Mr. •T. A. McKenzie (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs. T. H. Hall. W. F. Sinclair and H. Cuff; council, Messrs. A. Snodgrass, W. Pilcher, J. Brown, G. Bu'dge. N". R. Reynolds. E. S. Knowles, T. Campbell. W. G. Robbie and W. E. Graveson. At the meeting of the new council which followed it was decided to appoint four rangers, and to donate 10 per cent of the revenue from local fishing licenses to the central fish research fund. Permission to rear pheasants on Rat Island, and also at Gate Pa, was given to two residents. It was resolved the season open in the Tauranga district on June 2 and close on July 31.
