TE KUITI.

Major Cowper landed the first passenger on the local aerodrome on Thursday morning, the trip from Rotorua occupying just one hour. This indicates what great changes may take place in tourist traffic between Rotorua and the Waitomo Caves in the near future. A fine pavilion, erected by the Railway Social Club, on its new recreation reserve, has been declared open by Mr. W. .T. Broadfoot. M.P. Mr. J. Marzlak laid the bricks free, in his own spare time, and Mr. and Mrs. Marzlak were each presented with a solid oak armchair. Mr. R. Schumacher reminded those present that Mr. Marzlak had given 700 hours' free service in the interests of his fellow workers. He also thankpil Mr. R. Adams for designs, and Mr. C. Harris, the carpenter who assisted in carrying out the work. Messrs. R. H. Feist and A. ICinnell. of the executive of the >~ew Zealand Farmers' Union, have just completed a series of rally meetings throughout the King Country. The speakers urged the farmers to get together and join up with the union, as it was nbundantly necessary in the face of falling prices that they should co-operate in an effort to lessen the cost of production. An organiser is to follow in the hope of forming branches of the Farmers' Union in each centre.
