The clerk of the Matamata Town Board I reported on Wednesday that the Census and Statistics Department had called for a j return of building operations within the J town district which had been carried out j during the past year, and the following I fjgur-s have been given : Private dwellings: j Wood. £4145; others, £80; alterations, j £1551. Business premises. £1250; altera- j tions. £513; other buildings, £9550. 3 Total, £17,810.. i About sixty returned soldiers met in the Matamata Town Hall, and it was jj unanimously agreed to form a branch of [ the Returned Soldiers' Association in the ' Matamata district.
