MR. JOHN ANDERSON BROWN.

The death has occurred of Mr. J O Jm j Anderson Brown, aged 74, one of ii e oldest residents of the Waihi district Ho was born at Mahurangi, and -went to the Thames at the time of the gold rush. He was a member of the old Thames Naval Volunteers. After contract work in the Thames district he went to Waihi, where he built several dams for the Waihi Gold Mining Company. After living at Te Puke for some years he returned to Waihi, where he became a member of the Borough Council, Hospital Board and Ohinemuri Licensing Committee. He was a prominent Freemason. He leaves a widow, three sons, and four daughters.
