BRYANT AIR SERVICE.
AERODROME AT TE RAPA. BENEVOLENT OBJECTS. (By Telegraph. —Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. The area of 35 acres which is to be the site of the aerodrome at Te Rapa for the Bryant House Air Service has been ploughed and levelled and is now showing up in new grass. It is situated equi-distant between Te Rapa racecourse and the St. Andrews golf links, with a wide stretch of fairly open country all around it. The Waikato River runs close by and the location of the 'drome from the air should be very simple. A commencement will be made shortly with the erection of a hangar capable of housing half a dozen machines. The original scheme of Mr. D. Bryant, the promoter, was to establish an aerial stock-buying agency, the object being to carry on stock dealing on an extensive scale, the 'planes to be used for the transport of buyers to inspect stock in different parts of the country. This scheme now seems to have been abandoned and the intention is to carry on as an aerial transport company. The 'planes will be available for passenger flights and tuition when not otherwise in use on business trips or in connection with the Bryant Home trusteeship. The main object of this extension of the activities of the trustees is to endeavour to provide a capital endowment for carrying oil further benevolent work. The trustees have purchased a twoseater Gipsy Moth, which is at present ill use at Botorua on pleasure trips. A Desoutter three-seater 'plane has also just been landed in the Dominion for the company, and it is the intention of the trustees to purchase " a further threeseater machine. Major G. A. C- Cowper has been appointed service manager. Mr. Bryant is on a pleasure trip to Australia and the scheme will be put into operation on his return.
