LEAVING FOR HOME.

EMPIRE FARMERS" TOUR ' ENDS. . ' SAILING BY THE NIAGARA. ■ MESSAGE TO NEW ZEALAND. '■Before leaving by the Niagara this afternoon for tiheir. homes in South Africa and I'Great ,Britain, • the British' Empire Farmers' .Touring Party leaders, Mr. S. R. Whitley, leader of the English party, and Mr. A.. V. Allan, leader of the South Africans, gave a "Star" representative the! following message to tlie people of Nfew: Zealand: — ",We.the Eihpire Farmers' Party, who; have been touring through New Zealand, wish to; leave-behind us a message of grateful: thanks to all in the Dominion who have worked so hard to make our visit a happy and memorable one. The time has been, all too short and hurried; but is is marvellous how. much lias ■; been accomplished,, due mainly to excellent staff work on the part'' of the farmefs'• unions, Agricultural Department ! officers, chamber' of commerce, - civic authorities and the various other organisations before Our 'arrival. Much of this work had been done behind the scenes. W§ are indeed grateful and would have those responsible know, it. The arrangements for our comfort have been highly appreciated by the whole of- our party. "To those, who came to receive us and who generally motored us everywhere in great comfort, and entertained us officially and privately with lavish hospitality we can never sufficiently express our gratitude. That our company was appreciated was beyond doubt. This greatly added to our enjoyment. We only hope that a re-union With many of them either in one of the sister Dominiong. or in the Homeland may not be long' delayed. These new friendships must be kept fresh and bright by as frequent intervals as may be possible.' fTo the women folk of the Dominion we would specially record our thanks— their life is a very full one, and yet they always found time to add to our comfort and enjoyment as women only can." - "To the Railway Department officials responsible for pur transport and tour arrangements and from whom we received never failing kindness and courtesy we would express our full thanks for hard work most efficiently parried out. "For the rest of our lives we shall always have in our hearts a warm spot for the people of New Zealand, .and look forward to many happy re-unions."
