LOCAL BODIES.
MANUREWA TOWN BOARP.
The Manurewa Town Board met last evening, the chairman, Mr. Geo. Gallaher, presiding. Messrs. W. T. Cox and F. Whyte were absent. Museum Levy.—The board was notified that its contribution towards the upkeep of the War Memorial Museum would be approximately £36 and that it could nomi-' nate a representative for election to the board of directors. No action was taken in regard to the proposed election. Rubbish Dump.—Referring to complaints received in connection with the rubbish dump in Cox head's Road, Mr. G. Osborne reported that, together with the foreman (Mr. R. Forbes), he had inspected the dump. He considered everything was in order and the dump was not a nuisance to any residents, the nearest of whom was a quarter of a mile away. The report was received. Brown's Road. —A petition signed by thirteen residents of Brown's Road asked the board to form a footpath along the frontage to their respective properties on the northern side of the road The chairman stated that the whole of Brown's Road would require early attention, and he favoured deferring the footpath question until the whole matter was taken in hand in the new financial year. This suggestion was adopted. School Footpath.—lt was decided to grant the school committee's request that the footpath between the War Memorial Monument and the school gates be resurfaced, also that an be provided to the proposed dental clinic in Hill Eoad.
