N. ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIP. NBILSON RETAINS TITLE. BELT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WANGANUI, Sunday. The ■ North Island champiqnehip rifle shooting meiiting , concluded on Vvtitci l-Migo at Wangauul yesterday. A high north-east -wind made shooting difficult, but some exceptionally good ecores were returned. Captain A. Neilson (N<JP'cr) retained the championship belt with Si 7 points. Rifleman T. Orr (Greytown) { was second with 320. and Rifleman J, Patterson (WaiiKanul) third, with 317. In the Manivwntu match J. G. Turnbull (New Plymouth) and N. G. Green (Okawa) were equal (irst, with 49 points. D. Colder (Akarana) was third. The Hawke's Bay match resulted in a win for F.. C. Hogg iWanganui): T. Orr '(Greytown) was second arid D. P. T. Goodall (Suburbs) third. ; r • Tho optional aggregate match ended In a .victory 'for Captain A. J. Patterson (Wauganul) was eecond, and T. Orr- {Greytown) third. The North Island teams inafch resulted In a vlctdry for the Wanganui team. ■ Petohe was second and Opaki third. T. Orr (Greytown) won the Murybank aggregate. The tyro championship was won by A. S.
