OBITUARY.
Archdeacon c. i/. tukr The death has occiirrcd of Archdeacon C. L. Tuke, of 22, Omalm Eoad, Eeinuera, at tne ago of 71 years. The deceased, who was forme r ly archdeacon of Tauranga and canon of Waiapu, was born in England, and came to New Zealand a a youth. He was educated at St. John's College, Auckland, and /was ordained deacon in 1881 and priest in 1882. Ho wag vicar oi St. John's, Napier, from 1881-83, and then became vicar of All Saints' Church, Taradale,- a position which he held until 1893. He later went to St. Mark's Church, Waipukurau, and was- vicar of, St. Augustine's Church, Napier, from 1908 to 1916. In the latter year he was inade archdeacon and vicar of Tauranga, and Jie held the appointment until 1921, jvhen he became vfcaf at Ellerslie. He retired in 1923, and since : has assisted at St. Mark's Church, Bemuera. In his younger days Mr. Tuke,was a keen follower of sport, and represented the Hawke's Bay province at cricket. In later years he took up bowling, and was a.popular member of the Eemuera Club. He leaves a widow and a grown-up family. One son was Trilled at the Great War. : ' .
