FIGHT FOR A NAME.

EARLDOM OF EGMONT,

LONDON, December 21

"They call me Egmont where I work," declared J. W. Perceval, whose claim to the Egmont earldom has begun in the Courts.

"If I win, my comrades in the bakehouse who have stood by me will be the first to benefit. The Percevals have always been a wild crowd," he added. "I am fighting the case without counsel."

Perceval cordially shook hands with Pownall, an old age pensioner, who is a rival claimant for the Egmont earldom, when they met in Court. The rancher earl was represented by a solicitor.

Master Chandler, of the Chancery Court, heard the applicants privately, and will decide which has a cause for action.
