A GENERAL INCREASE.
BIRTHS, MARRIAGES AND DEATHS. AUCKLAND VITAL STATISTICS. An increase in births, marriages and deaths, as compared with the figures for September, 1928, is shown by the latest monthly return for the Auckland district. Births increased from 248 to 265, marriages from 132 to 155, and deaths from 157 to 167. The number of marriages performed by the registrar in August was only 25, but it rose last month to 36. The figures for the first nine months of this year and last year show a decline of 151 in the total of births. Deaths have decreased by 35, and there has been a decline of 16 in the number of marriages. Comparative statistics are as follow: — . 1929.
