SEPTEMBER WEATHER.
COLD, WINDY, DRY. Cold, dry conditions have prevailed during the month just past, according to Mr. H. M. Vincent, the Government observer. The month has been exceedingly dry, the fall being 2.36 inches, or L2O inches below the average. Very low temperatures were recorded on several occasions, and the average ruling conditions show that the season is a late one. The period of bright sunshine was about normal. There was only one day on which no sunshine was recorded. The following table shows the rainfall for the first nine months of this.year and the three preceding years:—
