THE LODER CUP.
A HORTICULTURAL DISPUTE. ROYAL SOCIETY'S CLAIM. (By Telegraph.—Owe Correspondent.) DUXEDDT, this day. At a meeting of the Loder Cup Committee of the Dunedin Horticultural Society Mr. Tannock stated that at the annual meeting of the society it was proposed to hold the Loder Cup competition at the December show, but since then advice had been received that the Auckland society, to which the first competition was offered, had reconsidered its position and was now willing to hold a competition for the cup this year. Under the conditions laid down the cup was definitely promised for competition in Otago in 1930 and he thought it was the duty of the committee to hold a competition as early as possible in that year so that the winner might hold the trophy until the end of the year at least. It was decided that a letter be sent to the Director of Horticulture suggesting that the conditions be altered so that the cup could be competed for during _ the horticultural year, instead of during the calendar year, and that, in the event of this not being agreed to, the society ask that the cup be handed oyer to it in time to enable a competition to be held in Februarv. 1930.
