SIR EDWIN MITCHELSON.
ERECTION OF A STATUE.
SITE SELECTED AT ELLERSLIE
With a view to marking the long association of Sir Edwin Mitchelson, president of the Auckland Racing Club, and the excellent work he has done in connection with that body, and also for racing in this city, the club recently decided to erect a statue of him at Ellerslie. A site has been selected near the winter gardens, and the unveiling ceremony will probably be held towards the latter end of the month. The statue, which is in bronze, has arrived, and the work of putting in the basement has now commenced at Ellerslie.
