Mr. F. D. McLiver returned to Auckland from Australia by the Mararna this morning. Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Frost, of Remu«ra, are leaving on Friday on a trip to England, via Singapore. Mr. W. Russell-Wood, of Auckland, lias been appointed adjudicator in the •locutionary sections of the festival to be held by the Greymouth Competitions Society in August. Mr. Fred Bridges, assistant boys' work director at the Auckland branch of the Y.M.C.A., left last evening to take up his new position as director of boys' work at the Dunedin Association. Sir Carrick Robertson leaves by the Niagara, this afternoon for Canada en route to England. He will be away some months. His son, Mr. John Robertson, who has been studying at Cambridge University for some years, will return with him. Star Hotel guests include Mr. S. Gibson and Mr. t'. D.
