TAURANGA NEWS.

Property owners- in the southern part of the borough petitioned the borough council to have their lands revalued for rating purposes. It was decided that the applications lie on the table until the next meeting, in order that they may be investigated by councillors. The Mayor, Mr. B. Dive, said he considered that rating on the capital value was the fairest system anil supsested that the , council take steps to bring it in. The council agreed to take the steps to raise sewerage and drainage loans totalling £13,850 and a library loan of £2300.
