SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA.

FORMATION IN WELLINGTON. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. It has been decided to form a Wellington Symphony Orchestra, the object being to foster and encourage orchestral music and to inaugurate and hold from time to time orchestral performances in Wellington, or elsewhere, and generally to foster, encourage and advance the art of music and the study of orchestral playing. The number of subscribing members already exceeds 100. Mr. Leon de Mauny has been unanimously elected musical director and conductor of the Society.
