HOUSE DESTROYED.

FIRE AT WAIAU PA. OCCUPANTS' LUCKY ESCAPE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) PUKEKOHE, this day. An eight-roomed houee, owned and occupied by Mr. W. H. Gorringe, of Waiau Pa, wae destroyed by fire on Sunday morning. The house, an old one, burned rapidly, and the occupants had a narrow escape. Mrs. Gorringe wae awakaneu by unusual noises, and after waking a farm hand who was partially doped by the fumes, ehe rescued her 18-months old child. It was impossible to eave any of the content*. The dwelling wae insured for £500, and the furniture for £200. Mr. Gorringe, who was away from home at the time, i« a heavy loser.
