WEEKLY HALF-HOLIDAY.

ST. HELIERS AND KOHI WANT

WEDNESDAY.

APPLICATION MADE FOR CHANGE.

If no objections are raised by October 31, shops in the St. Heliers and Kohiniarama districts will close for their weekly half-holiday on Wednesdays.

Kohi and St. Hcliers were in the Tamaki district and when Tamaki was abforbed by the City of Auckland a few months ago, St. Heliers and Kohi had to take the statutory half-holiday in the city, which is Saturday. Shopowners in the two seaside districts have made application to the Inspector of Factories, Mr. W. Slaughter, under the Shops and Offices Act, IP2I-22,-to have Wednesday as their statutory closing day.
