HENDERSON TOWN BOARD.
At the first meeting of the newlyelected Henderson Town Board Mr. Lelghton was elected chairman. The following committees were appointed: Works committee : Messrs. Rowntree, Ozich, McKay and Forson-Stewart. Finance: Messrs. Kowntree, Pratt, Hart, and McKay. Hall committee: Messrs. Hart, Pratt, Ozich and Forson-Stewart. Parks committee: Messrs. Forson-Stewart, Hart and Pratt. The first-named in each case to_ be chairman of the committee.
The foreman reported that the necessary metal had been placed on the North, View, and Edmonton Roads.
The chairman of the New Lynn Town Board, Mr. Titchener, reported on the recent transport commission, and it was resovled that Mr. Lelghton be given authority to act for the Henderson Town Board in conjunction with Glen Eden and New Lynn Town Boards being included in the Auckland transport district. Mr. E. G. Rowntree was appointed to represent the board on the town planning committee.
It was resolved that the Health Department be requested to forward a report on the pig farm situated near the public school on the Great South Road.
The contractor for the sanitary service gave notice that he did not intend to continue. The chairman and Mr. Ozich were appointed a committee to arrange for a suitable dump.
Consideration of the proposed works on Catherine Street and the Old North Road at an estimated cost of £59 JO/ was deferred until the weather is more favourable.
